Prism Engineering staff provided Civil Engineering design services for Federal Express’ expansion of its IND hub at Indianapolis International Airport.

The project included a major expansion of FedEx second largest air hub while maintaining air and trucking operations. New facilities included warehouse, trucking, maintenance and aircraft support facilities, on a 200-acre site.

Site facilities included apron and taxilane for over 20 MD-11 aircraft, over 400 employee parking spaces, and over 150 truck staging spaces, along with relocation of a major airport utility corridor.

Work included planning and schematic design for site layout, aircraft and vehicle parking and movement, grading and paving, storm management, waste treatment, utilities, security and coordination with the new airport development.

Additional responsibilities included primary permit coordination.
